The Treat Me Well campaign aims to transform the way people with a learning disability are treated in hospital. My older sister has Down's syndrome, and I've seen her receive fantastic care and some inadequate care - the latter I think almost always due to a lack of confidence and education. The publication of Mencap's Death by Indifference report and later the Learning Disabilities Mortality Review , is what really pushed me to solidify my role as an advocate and representative for positive change. I have always admired Mencap, and was thrilled when I saw their Treat Me Well campaign on Twitter: a campaign aimed specifically at healthcare professionals who want to improve inpatient services for people with a learning disability. The campaign recognises that we can see the urgency of the problem and have a keen desire to fix it, but just need the resources to do so. It unites a community of passionate healthcare professionals who are given the tools to then spread the word to their colleagues. I am incredibly proud to wear the Treat Me Well badge and am excited to contribute to the changes we urgently need! During Activism Week we talked to heads of departments at West Middlesex Hospital about the improvements they have made for people with learning disabilities and some plans we will work with them on. We hosted two workshops, where National Mencap presented information about Knowing your Rights in healthcare. We also have a Community Council Officer coming to talk to us soon, giving us an opportunity to ask questions and tell them our opinions about their consultations too.

Treat Me Well is our campaign to transform how the NHS treats people with a learning disability in hospital. Simple changes in hospital care can make a big difference — better communication , more time and clearer information. But we know the treatment people with a learning disability get in hospital is still not good enough in many parts of the country.
They could fill a book, the stories I could tell. The woman's role is to grow up, marry a worthy priesthood holder, and have a lot of kids. Actually, Mormon families are shrinking, just like those outside the Church, but they will always be larger than families outside Mormondom. Just as secular marriages have problems, so do temple marriages. Move on, but after thanksgiving. I have only been living with him for a month. As for deciding to marry someone who is not mormon, here is how I made the decision. As an atheist with Buddhist undertones who married a non-practicing, god-believing Mormon at the height of his questioning, I find this so interesting to me. The man presides over everything. Wonderful memories made for both of us.
